The Ride to Conquer Cancer raises $9.1 million
Fuelled by tens of thousands of donors, The Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Wheaton Precious Metals remains the largest fundraiser in B.C. and 2019 was another epic year of impact and connection.
Over the August 24-25 weekend, 2,100 Riders cycled from Surrey to Hope in support of BC Cancer and raised an incredible $9.1 million!
Many Riders and teams return for multiple events, including Brian McCauley, President & CEO at Concert Properties. Brian participated in 2011 and 2012 and came back for the 2019 Ride - after a hip replacement - to help form a corporate team. This initiative helped celebrate Concert Properties’ 30th anniversary, with the team raising more than $115,000!
“The Ride is about so much more than any one organization or rider – it’s truly about community banding together to honour those whose lives have been touched by cancer, and to bring hope for the future,” says McCauley.
In 11 years, the B.C. Ride has raised over $105 million supporting more than 47 world-leading research projects underway at BC Cancer.
